Ms McCue (SENDCO and SLT Responsible)
The department is here to support any child that may have any barrier to learning and support pupils through their school journey. Within the SEND department, pupils with a SEND need will be assigned a ‘Key Worker’ dependent on their SEND needs. These Key workers are there as a source of contact between parent and pupil and will liaise with parents regarding their child.

Miss Walsh (Assistant SENDCO and ADHD/SEMH Lead)
My name is Miss Walsh. I am the Assistant SENDCO at Blessed Trinity. I work with Miss McCue and the SEND department. We make sure everything that is needed to help you learn is in place for September. I work with all pupils who have special educational needs and will always be around if you need help with anything. I look forward to meeting you all.
Ms Daulton (SPLD Lead)
My name is Miss Daulton. I am the Specific Learning Difficulties Leads. This means that if you have any learning need or are struggling with your literacy, I will help you. I also help pupils with Speech and language and with Motor skill issues, such as Dyspraxia.
Mr Baldwin (SPLD TA)
My name is Mr Baldwin and I work alongside Ms. Daulton, specialising in supporting pupils who have specific learning difficulties (SPLD).
Mrs Green (EAL Lead)
Hello there I am Mrs Green, we look after pupils with English as an additional language. I also teach Polish and I love helping with maths.
Mrs Cooper (Physical/Visual / Hearing Disabilities TA)
Mrs Cooper likes PE, ART and she is very good at cooking.
Mrs Wilkinson (ASD Lead)
My name is Mrs Wilkinson and I am ASD lead at BTRCC. I work with children with various educational needs. Always here to listen to you and provide support when you need it. I understand how difficult transition is, but remember you are not alone. Can’t wait to meet you all and make your transition to BTRCC as smooth as possible.
Miss Stott (SEN Intervention Lead)
Hello, I’m Miss Stott. I have two roles within the SEN department at Blessed Trinity, one is an ASD teaching assistant and I will always be around and do my best to help with anything. The other half of my time I run interventions with pupils, providing support to help them develop understanding of ASD, developing social and emotional communication skills, self-awareness and self-esteem and help to process and regulate emotions.
Mrs Tansey (Nurture Lead)
Mrs Tansey provides the following Interventions in the Nurture Room: Emotional Regulation, Internal Motivation for Change, External Motivation for Change, Anxiety Workshops, Mindfulness, Difficulties with Learning and Social Interactions, Developing Social Communication, Developing Relationships, Friendship Groups, Transition in Young Peoples Lives, Anger Management, Problem Solving, Restorative Justice, Mediation.
Mr Heavican (ADHD/SEMH TA)
Hello, I'm Mr. Heavican and I work as part of the ADHD/SEMH team at Blessed Trinity.
Mrs G Stringman (ASD TA)
Hello, I'm Miss Stringman. I'm an ASD Teaching assistant. I love working with all the pupils in school to help them achieve their goals. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.
Miss Winter (Physical/ Visual / Hearing Disabilities lead)
Welcome to Blessed Trinity! My name is Miss Winter, I work in the SEN department. I work with pupils of all ages who have physical/ visual or hearing disabilities and will always be around if you need help with anything.
Miss Harker (Pupil support TA)
Hi My name is Miss Harker, I am a specialist Visual impairment teaching assistant. I adapt resources into braille and tactile media to allow full access to the curriculum.
Mrs Da Costa Oliveira (Literacy TA)
Hello! My name is Mrs Da Costa Oliveira. I work in the SEN Department and help pupils with their literacy. I conduct one-to-one sessions with pupils focusing on improving their reading skills such as comprehension and fluency.
Mrs H Thornton-Armitt (Pupil support TA)
Hello there, my name is Mrs. Thornton-Armitt (Mrs TA for short) I am a teaching assistant in school, so I am here to help with whatever you may need or can help you find someone who can. Mrs H Begum (Pupil support TA)
Hi Everyone, My name is Mrs Begum; you can call me Mrs B if you like. I am a Pupil Support Teaching Assistant here at Blessed Trinity and have been working with young people across Burnley & Pendle for the past 17 years as both a Youth & Community Development Worker and a Support Teaching Assistant. Here at the College, you will find me in the Learning Support Area alongside the other support staff based there. I am always happy to help and support any pupil who needs my assistance. Being bilingual I can speak Bengali & Urdu. My hobbies include singing, dancing, fashion & food. Please come to me if you need my help.
