Blessed Trinity student Molly will be cheering all the way to Japan in November.

The 13-year-old had to go through a tough audition process but was selected to represented the UK for ages 13-15-year-olds at the World Cheerleading Championships which will take place in Japan.

"I am a member of Clarets Cheer and Dance and we were asked to go for auditions in Macclesfield," said Molly, who wants to be a cheerleading coach.

"We had to send in a video first and then go to Macclesfield and show off tumbles and turns. I was really nervous.

"The auditions were in January and then I got told I had been selected in February and was really excited.

"A team of 19 is going to Japan and 16 of us will compete and we have had a number of rehearsal days, which last eight hours so they have been tough but fun.

"It will be a fantastic experience."
