Generous students from Blessed Trinity were open-handed on Pi Day and helped Burnley Foodbank.

The aim of the students was to collect 314 (pi) items on Pi Day (14th March) to boost those in need of food - they actually collected more than 500.

The Year Sevens brought in the most items with 184 and Mark Hirst, from Spacious Place Engage, picked up the packages - in eight crates - from school.

"It's amazing," said Mark. " This is a massive help to what we do. The students have been brilliant."
