Burnley Under 15s are Lancashire Cup winners for the second year running after overcoming Rossendale in the final at Leyland.

The town team saw off a well-organised Rossendale side courtesy of just one goal, the goal hero being Kofi Marhsall.

But it was a real team effort with goalkeeper Cameron Cooke-Green pulling off a superb save in the early stages of the match.

Burnley then started to play some attractive football and took the lead when Marshall finished from close range from a Reece McVay corner to make the score 1-0 to Burnley.

Burnley continued to make chances and hit the post just before half-time through Max McNulty.

The second half saw both teams miss opportunities and play some good football with Burnley holding on to their lead.

Blessed Trinity PE Teachers Marshall Holding and John Kelly  run the town team.

Mr Kelly said: “We deserve to be double Lancashire champions and we have a talented team here with many linked to academies."
